Fire Watch Services

Fire watch is on-site patrol, observation, reporting, and emergency notification while a property's fire protection systems are not fully working. Our fire watch personnel conduct fire safety patrols, keep timestamped logs, and call 911 and alert occupants if a fire is found. We do not repair, inspect, or certify alarm or sprinkler systems, or provide firefighting. Fire watch requirements are determined by the AHJ/local authority based on the circumstances.

Emergency fire watch

Coverage arranged on short notice when a fire alarm or sprinkler system fails, reports trouble, or goes offline unexpectedly. Call any time, day or night — availability and arrival estimates are confirmed on the call.

Scheduled fire watch

Planned coverage booked ahead of system maintenance, repairs, inspections, or shutdowns, with shifts set around your contractor's timeline.

24/7 and extended fire watch coverage

Overnight, weekend, and multi-day coverage that continues until your system is restored or the authority having jurisdiction no longer requires fire watch.

Fire alarm system outage coverage

Patrols and observation while a fire alarm system or panel is impaired, reporting trouble, or out of service.

Fire sprinkler system outage coverage

Fire safety patrols and hazard reporting

Routine patrols to observe for fire, smoke, and hazards such as blocked exits or accumulated combustibles, reported to your on-site contact.

Emergency notification and evacuation assistance

If fire or smoke is discovered, officers call 911, alert occupants, and help direct people toward exits. Fire watch officers observe and report — they do not fight fires or repair fire protection systems.

Fire watch logs and incident documentation

Timestamped patrol logs and incident notes kept throughout coverage and provided to you, so you can share them with your fire marshal, insurer, or property management.

Staffing and shift coordination

Officer scheduling across shifts, handoffs, and coverage changes so your property stays covered as your repair timeline moves.

Fire Watch Requirements

Whether fire watch is required, and how it must be performed, is decided by the authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) — usually the local fire marshal or fire official for your property's location. Follow their instructions; we staff coverage to match them.

How to Request Coverage

  1. Call (727) 729-9332 — fire watch requests are taken 24/7 — or send the coverage request form.
  2. Share the property address, which system is affected (fire alarm, sprinkler, or both), and whether repairs are underway.
  3. Tell us when coverage needs to start, how long you expect to need it, and any instructions from your fire marshal or the authority having jurisdiction.
  4. Give us an on-site contact. We confirm availability, staffing, and an arrival estimate, then officers begin patrols and logs.

Property Manager FAQs

How should property managers coordinate fire patrol services with repair contractors?

Give us an on-site contact, the affected areas, contractor access needs, and any AHJ instructions. The contractor handles system work; our personnel perform assigned patrols and report observations to your contact. Tell us when work changes access or the areas without protection.

What if repairs run past the scheduled fire watch shift?

Contact dispatch at (727) 729-9332 as soon as the timeline changes so we can confirm staffing for the next shift. Share the revised repair schedule and any updated AHJ instructions. Do not assume coverage can end because the contractor has left. Dispatch takes requests 24/7; office staff are available Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM.
