Construction Fire Watch Services
Construction sites change every day. Walls go up, stairs open and close, trades move between floors, and the building's own fire alarm and sprinkler systems may not be finished — or may be disconnected so work can continue. Phoenix Fire Watch provides fire watch personnel for construction, renovation, and restoration projects across the Tampa Bay area.
We work with the superintendent or site contact to plan patrols, adjust them as the project moves, and keep the documentation your team needs. Availability and estimated arrival time are confirmed when you call.

The Challenges of Construction Fire Watch
Fire watch on an active project is harder than in a finished building. Our personnel are prepared for:
- Changing work areas — patrol routes are updated as crews and hazards move
- Changing access routes — stairs, doors, and corridors open and close as work progresses
- Coordination with the superintendent or site contact on what changed since the last shift
- Documenting every patrol so you have a continuous record across the project
- Keeping coverage steady through different phases, from framing to finishes
- Shift handoffs that pass along site changes, not just the time
- Emergency communication — knowing who to call on site and calling 911 if fire is found
- Following site-specific instructions, including restricted areas and safety requirements
Occupied Buildings Under Construction
When people live or work in a building while it is being renovated, fire watch also has to account for occupants. Personnel learn the current exit routes, report blocked exits or stored materials in egress paths to the site contact, and alert occupants if fire is discovered.
Fire Watch Does Not Replace Fire Protection Systems
Fire watch is a temporary measure. It does not replace required fire alarm or sprinkler systems, and it does not satisfy requirements on its own. Fire-watch requirements on a project depend on the circumstances and on the instructions of the applicable Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). Contractors should follow the instructions of the fire official responsible for the site.

Frequently Asked Questions
Our building's sprinkler system isn't finished yet. Can you cover the site?
Yes, if fire watch is required based on the circumstances, site requirements, and applicable AHJ/fire official instructions. Tell us the site, the areas without protection, and the hours needed.
Can coverage change as the project moves to different phases?
Yes. We adjust patrol areas and staffing with your superintendent as work areas, access routes, and protection status change.
Can you cover nights and weekends when the site is closed?
Yes. Fire watch coverage is available 24/7, including after-hours and weekends.
Do you handle hot work on construction sites?
Yes. Hot-work fire watch can be part of a construction assignment or booked separately. Your permit and site procedures set the requirements.
Who decides when construction fire watch can end?
Phoenix Fire Watch does not independently determine when a required fire watch can end. Coverage should continue until the property has received appropriate direction based on the applicable AHJ/fire official requirements, site procedures, and restoration status of the affected fire-protection system.
Do you provide records we can give the fire marshal or owner?
Yes. Personnel keep timestamped patrol logs throughout the project and provide them to your team.
